About Us
The Western Electrical Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Training (WECAT) Program is a collaboration of the University of California, Davis (UC Davis), the California and Nevada Labor Management Cooperation Committee for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the National Electrical Contractors Association (IBEW-NECA), ICF International; and multiple employers across the region to expand apprenticeship and training to address acute employment needs in the areas of smart cities and power systems cybersecurity.
The WECAT Program trains apprentices in electrical design, installation, programming and maintenance methods that can better fortify commercial buildings, industrial facilities and smart city infrastructure from cyberattacks.
